♦ Spéc., vx. Détermination du jour ou de l'époque d'une fête religieuse (cf. comput). Et quel sera le jour du repos d'Israël? Le jour même du repos de Dieu (...). Certes, voici une étrange sorte de computation, et nous ne voyons pas que la Grèce, pourtant si poétique, se soit jamais avisée de rapporter les misérables travaux du manœuvre et les soins du laboureur, à la création de la lumière, et à la naissance du bœuf et de l'agneau (CHATEAUBRIAND, Fragments du Génie du christianisme primitif, 1800, p. 190).
